Gravel & Asphalt Mine on Montana Public Lands Near Emigrant?

Read the letter I sent, along with Rep. Jamie Islay, to MT DNRC, the Montana State Land Board and the Park County Commission below.

A GRAVEL & ASPHALT MINE application for Emigrant has been submitted. It will take Public Land and turn it into a private mine. It is unnecessary. Park County already has all the gravel it and the Yellowstone Park projects needs.

IF YOU WANT TO STOP THIS - the Land Board IS impacted by volume, so your voice makes a difference. Please be substantive, with any specific reasons why this land should stay public. Here's what you can do, and thank you:

1) Send an email with the Subject Heading "Proposed Emigrant Gravel Lease” with your public comment:

(a) to the Montana State Land Board at this email address: landboard@mt.gov

(b) to the Montana Dept. of Natural Resources and Conservation at this email address: DNRCEmigrantGravel@mt.gov

(c) to the Park County Commissioners at these email addresses: mstory@parkcounty.org, bwells@parkcounty.org, jvermillion@parkcounty.org, cahern@parkcounty.org

2) IF you want to do more/extra, call or write each respective Land Board member:

• Governor – 444-3111| governor@mt.gov

• Attorney General – 444-2026 | contactdoj@mt.gov

• Secretary of State - 444-2034 | secretary@mt.gov

• State Auditor / Commissioner of Securities and Insurance - 444-2040 | CSI@mt.gov

• Superintendent of Public Instruction - 444-3095 | superintendent@mt.gov
